Local restaurant honored for decade of community impact

During a recent government meeting, local officials celebrated the 10th anniversary of Jam and Kreps, a beloved Princeton restaurant, with an award recognizing its contributions to the community. Co-owners Kathy Clockenbrink and Kim Risk were commended for their commitment to sourcing ingredients from local farms and for their environmentally friendly practices, including the use of compostable takeout products. The restaurant's mission emphasizes the importance of local agriculture, collaborating with nearby farms like Trujune Orchards and Small World Coffee.

In addition to the award presentation, council member Michelle provided a wrap-up of the summer youth programs organized by the recreation department. The six-week day camp attracted 554 participants, while the travel camp had 192 participants. Notably, 27% of day camp attendees and 44% of travel camp participants received financial assistance, totaling over $82,000, thanks to partnerships with local organizations. This support ensured that all families requesting aid could participate in the programs, highlighting the community's commitment to accessible recreational opportunities for youth.
