Brookfield prepares for bustling winter with new shops

In a recent government meeting, significant updates were shared regarding community projects and upcoming events in Brookfield. Trustee Ketchmark reported that the installation of new shops at Brookfield is on track, with the base set to be completed by early next week and the shops expected to be installed by December 6. This initiative aims to have the shops operational before winter, allowing vendors to set up in time for spring.

Trustee Naramatsu highlighted the successful completion of Ellet Park, Brookfield's first fully accessible park, which has already seen considerable public engagement. The park's development involved extensive community input, and Naramatsu expressed gratitude to the village staff and Parks and Recreation Department for their efforts. Additionally, winter break day camps will be available, and a community center feasibility study open house is scheduled for January 22.

Trustee Kalusnick provided updates on the Conservation Commission, which is proposing to adjust its meeting time to 6 PM for greater convenience. The Beautification Commission is also set to meet in January.

In other news, the Brookfield Zoo is collaborating on various projects, including improvements to traffic flow during holiday events. The holiday lights display has commenced, and the zoo is expected to attract large crowds, particularly during the upcoming holiday celebration.
