Holiday in Hickory promises festive fun and community spirit

During a recent meeting, a city official highlighted their participation in the Nebraska City Manager Association meeting and the lead executive board meeting, expressing enthusiasm for the collaborative efforts ahead. The official emphasized the potential for positive developments within the group, noting the caliber of individuals involved.

In addition to these updates, the official announced the upcoming \"Holiday in Hickory\" event scheduled for December 7th at 5 PM. The event promises a festive lineup, including a chili feed sponsored by Runza, candlelight tours of local museums, and a parade starting at 6 PM. Following the parade, attendees can look forward to the lighting of the community tree, with Santa Claus present to greet children.

The event will feature various activities, including a photo booth, s'mores provided by Peddler's Corners, hot chocolate from Sydney Regional Medical Center, ornament kits from the Sydney Public Library, and candy canes donated by Black Hills Energy. The city has also arranged for portable restrooms through Royal Flush to accommodate attendees.

The official encouraged community participation, particularly families with children, and expressed hope for favorable weather on the event day. Additionally, the council was reminded to mark their calendars for the employee appreciation banquet set for January 10th.
