City Faces Budget Crisis Over Unexpected EMS Costs

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed significant budgetary concerns related to emergency medical services (EMS) and the need for improved oversight through the establishment of a dedicated committee. The meeting highlighted an unexpected increase in EMS expenses, attributed to a deposit required for new ambulances that had not been budgeted for, resulting in a 39% rise in the city's EMS contribution.
