Onslow County launches Angel Tree to brighten holidays for foster kids

During a recent government meeting, officials discussed the upcoming Angel Tree program aimed at supporting foster children in Onslow County during the holiday season. Chrissy, a program representative, emphasized the initiative's goal of providing a sense of normalcy and joy to children in foster care, who often face challenges during this time of year.

The Angel Tree program allows community members to select \"angels\" from decorated trees, each representing a child's wish list. These lists include both essential items and special gifts, ensuring that children receive what they want and need. The program is set to launch with trees displayed at two confirmed locations: the Anzalou County Consolidated Human Services Building and the Anzalou County Government Building, with additional sites expected to be announced soon.

The representatives highlighted the importance of community involvement, encouraging residents to participate by picking an angel and purchasing gifts. They noted that gifts should be returned to the agency by December 2 to ensure timely distribution before the annual Christmas party scheduled for December 6.
