McLeod County Celebrates Record Voter Turnout and Election Staff

In a recent government meeting, McLeod County officials celebrated the successful execution of the 2024 elections, recognizing the dedicated personnel who contributed to the process. Auditor Treasurer Connie Kritzwig presented impressive statistics, revealing a voter turnout of 88.48% in McLeod County, closely mirroring the statewide average of 88.37%. The meeting highlighted the efficiency of absentee and direct balloting, with nearly 28% of ballots cast through these methods.

Kritzwig detailed the election's logistics, noting that over 500 voters were processed in the final three days leading up to the election, necessitating a robust team of election judges. The canvas board met on November 12 to certify the results, with a subsequent manual hand count confirming the accuracy of the tabulator results.

The meeting also featured a segment dedicated to the Glencoe Silver Lake FFA program, where students shared their experiences from the National FFA Convention. They highlighted their participation in various competitions, including agricultural sales and issues presentations, showcasing their skills and dedication to youth development in agriculture.
