City of Summit approves first fully accessible playground

In a recent city council meeting, members expressed enthusiasm for two significant initiatives aimed at enhancing community resources in Summit.

The council celebrated the upcoming construction of the city’s first fully ADA-compliant playground, a project that has been in development for several months. In another development, the council appointed Roger Dornbeer as the new zoning officer, effective October 7, 2024. Council members expressed confidence in Dornbeer’s qualifications, highlighting his extensive experience and commitment to zoning issues. This appointment follows the retirement of the previous zoning officer, Krista Anderson, and is seen as a positive step for the city’s planning and development efforts.
