Village event doubles participation to support women in distress

In a recent government meeting, officials celebrated the success of a community event aimed at supporting women in distress and raising awareness about domestic violence through Donna's Fund. The event saw a remarkable turnout of 164 participants, more than doubling the attendance from the previous year.

The village played a crucial role in the event's organization, providing essential resources such as tents and rest stops at various locations, including the town center, dog park, and Village Park. Participants had the option to choose from three different course lengths: 60 miles, 30 miles, and 15 miles.

Notable figures, including the Mayor and Councilwoman Siskin, actively participated in the event, which was made possible with the help of approximately 15 to 16 volunteers. Local sponsors, including the hospital and other community partners, contributed to the event's success, which was well-regarded by attendees.

The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office assisted with traffic control at key intersections, ensuring safety throughout the event. With breakfast provided beforehand and lunch served afterward, the event was praised for its organization and community spirit. Officials expressed enthusiasm for future events, indicating plans to continue this initiative as soon as a new contract is established.
