High school runner overcomes challenges to reach state finals

The Bay City Independent School District (BCISD) School Board meeting on November 19, 2024, celebrated the achievements of local student-athlete Tony, who recently qualified for the state cross country meet. Coaches Raydea Sanders and Claire Button highlighted Tony's dedication and hard work, detailing his journey from a novice runner to a state qualifier.

Tony, who began running in his sophomore year after missing the previous season, demonstrated remarkable growth and commitment.
