The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Oct. 2 to adopt Resolution No. 2026.10.2.15, setting countywide tax levies for fiscal year 2026 and formalizing a $311.40 annual residential solid‑waste assessment.
Director E. Doss read the resolution to the board, listing the component rates: county maintenance and operations 5.596 mills; an emergency services special service district at 1.994 mills; school maintenance and operations 12.798 mills; school bonds 2.026 mills; and the development authority at 0.628 mills, for a combined total of 23.042 mills. Director E. Doss said the resolution is “Approval of the tax levy for fiscal year ending 06/30/2027” and provided the document number as Resolution No. 2026.10.2.15.
After discussion, the board moved to adopt the resolution. The Chair announced the motion and the vote, stating the motion was carried unanimously. The resolution directs the county tax commissioner to collect taxes for county, school and industrial purposes and to remit proceeds to the appropriate authorities under Georgia law.
The board also approved placing the $311.40 annual solid‑waste assessment on the tax roll for each occupied residential unit, including units in manufactured‑home parks, as described in the resolution.
