Commissioners reviewed the industrial park and several city-owned parcels, including a rest-area parcel, and discussed options for marketing and site preparation. One commissioner urged keeping an industrial-park reserve to pay for appraisals and surveys, saying that a modest annual set-aside would let staff respond quickly to buyer interest without repeated budget requests.
Members discussed whether to replot or subdivide parcels to make smaller lots available to more buyers. As one commissioner noted, if a buyer wants 20 acres "we can carve him 20 acres of it and still... The rest of it we can sell, then"—an argument in favor of flexible parceling rather than a rigid lot structure. Commissioners asked staff to produce a parcel map and cost estimates for surveying and marketing to inform a decision about keeping the current earmark or reallocating a portion to other priorities.
Staff committed to produce a clearer map of the industrial park, including easements and the rest-area parcel, and recommended setting a small annual budget to cover appraisals and surveys so the RDC can move faster when buyers express interest.
