The Benbrook City Council approved two IT renewals on Oct. 1 that city staff said were anticipated and budgeted.
IT Director Wes Cooper said the finance and municipal court software from Tyler Technologies carries a renewal cost of $61,196 for the fiscal year and that the expenditure was included in the approved IT budget. Cooper also described the CRIMES system provided by Sam Houston State University’s police research center; he said the renewal cost for the police computer-aided dispatch and report-writing software is $55,650 and that the expenditure was likewise budgeted.
"Staff recommends that the city council approve renewal of Tyler Technologies finance and municipal court software at a cost of $61,196," Cooper said. He made the separate recommendation for the crimes software renewal and council approved both motions unanimously.
