During the WTA sponsorship discussion, council members repeatedly asked staff to specify what the WTA would deliver under the revised deal: how many "digital assets" the city would receive, whether the city would be allowed to reuse WTA‑produced footage, and how many content creators/influencers the WTA would commit to promoting local destinations.
Mikaela and a contract drafter who identified himself as Todd explained that the WTA would provide particular promotional deliverables (welcome videos, promo spots and agreed‑upon b‑roll) and would encourage content creators to visit Kestrel and the Indian Wells Golf Resort, but that the WTA retains proprietary rights to most produced material. Todd read the draft operative language aloud to the council to clarify the city's enumerated benefits.
Several council members said the provision calling for promotion of local destinations was "vague" and asked staff either to obtain firmer contractual guarantees or to enumerate specific, measurable deliverables before execution.
Staff said the revised agreement added some visibility and access that the city did not previously have, but reiterated that the city would not receive unlimited access to WTA proprietary footage.
