Highway shop bid package out; bids due Oct. 5 with public opening at Lakeview Conference Center

County staff said the highway facility's site-plan approval and conditional-use permit were completed by the village and the project's bid package was released Sept. 8. "On October 5, the bids are due at 2PM," the staff member said, and staff will open bids publicly at the Lakeview Conference Center (Michigan Room).

Staff described a robust bidder response in the questions period (upwards of 80–90 questions were fielded) and said the Oct. 5 public opening will be followed by work with the construction manager and architect to finalize a guaranteed maximum price for presentation at the county-board education meeting later this month. Staff named the construction manager as Myron and said some contract elements will be handled with owner-direct bids and concurrent RFPs.
