Council highlights tourism award, river cleanup and youth scholarships

Council members spent the communications portion sharing community updates and acknowledgments. One member noted the tourism committee won the Flagler silver award for its digital campaign and encouraged collaboration with Port Richey on a river project involving Riviera Watersports. Another thanked residents and Recreation Department staff after a Cody River cleanup that drew about 200 volunteers.

A mayoral remark announced a kickball tournament to raise scholarships for the recreation center and Gulf High students who cannot afford sports fees. Members praised the turnout and urged continued community support for future events.
