During the Older Adults Home Modification Program briefing Neighborhood Services staff also outlined related assistance programs and caps.
"So the code enforcement assistant program, as long as they're meeting the requirements, they are eligible, and that, for that income level, it's higher. It's 120% AMI. And with that program, they can get up to $7,500 in assistance," David Balberti said. He later confirmed the drip repair program was increased to $10,000 per repair and described the Knox lockbox program that provides free lockboxes to seniors so first responders can access homes in an emergency.
Staff said these programs have different income thresholds and eligibility details, and that residents must meet program-specific requirements (for example, an active water notice for drip repair funding). The board asked staff to include these programs in outreach materials so residents know which assistance might apply to their situation.
