CES95 superintendent presents five strategic goals and finance update

Superintendent Janiece Blake opened the superintendentriefing at the Carbondale Elementary School District No. 95 board retreat on Sept. 26, 2026, outlining "The District's Focus (26-27) Strategic Goals": Improving Academic Performance; Improving Learning Environments; Support, Value, & Inspire Staff & Leaders; Families and the Community; and Resource Allocations. She also provided an update of district finances covering Education Operations and Maintenance, Debt Services, Transportation, IMRF/Social Security, Capital Projects, Working Cash and TORT.

The minutes record a planned Fund Balance Review covering operating fund balances from June 2017 through June 2026 for funds 10, 20, 40 and 70. The board did not record public comment on the report during the retreat. The item was noted on the agenda for follow-up during regular meetings, including the Sept. 29 FY27 budget public hearing scheduled at 7:00 PM at the CES95 Administrative Center.
