During the general public comment period, Andy Mitchell criticized county responsiveness and transparency, saying the sheriff does not respond to citizens' records requests and that the auditor's notices omit critical dates. Mitchell asked whether commissioners would work with residents and said citizens are entitled to the county's reasoning. "No machine took that trust. You gave it away 1 unanswered question at a time," he said. Mitchell also made a hyperbolic plea: "Please don't send the sheriff to my house to shoot my dog."
Ron Pulliam, who gave his address and said his home had experienced a 22% tax increase since he moved to the county, sought clarification about how levies voted in November would be affected by a county property reassessment in December. He asked whether levy amounts would be adjusted to account for reassessment and requested clarification from the auditor's office. County staff directed both commenters to tools on the auditor's website and offered to speak with them after the meeting; the board emphasized that the auditor's office is the expert on reassessment and levy calculations.
