The advisory board reviewed two models for an online youth-program directory and discussed whether Lakewood should develop its own site or adopt a lower-effort tile model linked to the city website. Staff member (S1) presented the examples, describing one as local and sport-oriented and the other as a broader county-managed directory. "The Active Youth Coalition is actually centered in South Pierce County," S1 said, noting that providers can log in and update listings.
Members said an online directory could make it easier for families to find activities and provide metrics that support future funding requests. Chair (S2) emphasized the project’s potential to knit the community together: "Lakewood thriving together," S2 said. Discussion centered on trade-offs: a consultant-built interactive site could capture mapping and age-specific filters but would require more resources, while a tile-based or form-driven approach could be stood up quickly with existing staff or a one-time grant.
