Resident says bidders lack plans for convention center work

During public comment, Joanie Monnivier said she had reviewed the agenda item and remained unclear because the item reads as if the city is sending something "for bid" even though architectural plans are not yet available. She said: "we do not have the plans yet to send out to bid."

Monnivier recommended that the agenda be reworded to reflect that the council is approving development of plans for a limited scope of work to be used later for bidding, rather than authorizing a bid on unspecified plans. Council members and staff responded that the document before the council is conceptual and that specific drawings and a site plan will be prepared by the architect prior to issuing final bid documents.
