The Hampton City Council recognized automotive sponsors Wynn Ford and Wynn Volvo for 10 years of backing Bluebird Gap Farm’s Storytelling in the Park program. A city presenter told council that the program brings children and parents together "to enjoy 1 of the oldest forms of entertainment known, storytelling," and that hundreds attend weekly to get "away from the television and computers."
The presenter described the plaque the city awarded, saying, "the tree leaves are fingerprints from all the children that attend," with a heart on the tree marking the 10-year sponsorship. Dory Wade, introduced earlier as the parts manager for Wynn Ford, accepted the recognition on behalf of Wynn Ford and Wynn Volvo and said, "it has been a beautiful 10 years of sponsorship, and we'll continue next year and continue, hopefully, every year that we are here." The presenter also thanked Parks and Recreation staff for organizing the series and for bringing storytellers, musicians and performers to the park.
