Scott County sets October budget hearing and adoption schedule

The Chair proposed a timeline for public notice and adoption and told colleagues, "So I say let's do it in the 19th at 6 for budget, hearing and adoption date." Participants discussed the county's notice requirement (10 days) and confirmed a sequence of meetings — a salary session on Oct. 1 at 8 a.m., a budget meeting Oct. 5 at 6 p.m., an Oct. 13 meeting, and an adoption hearing Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. — intended to satisfy timing ahead of the Nov. 1 deadline.

Staff indicated they would place the advertisement in accordance with the required notice period and circulate the finalized schedule and packet materials. Committee members agreed that the advertised hearing and the later adoption date will allow staff time to refine balances and any planned transfers before formal adoption.
