District explores a PPA solar plus battery backup proposal and vendor schematic work

District facilities staff reported follow‑up conversations with SkyView, a vendor that provides PV systems, battery storage and energy management, and asked whether the committee wanted SkyView to develop a preliminary roof schematic and proposal. SkyView told staff it would prepare a PPA‑style proposal (not district ownership) and could explore battery backup scenarios and prior system decommissioning as part of the work.

"He would be happy to prepare a proposal for the Dwight Committee to look at for a solar system that could potentially go into the building," the facilities representative said, summarizing the vendor's offer. Committee members asked to loop in the town's PPA contacts and to see comparable proposals from the district's other contracted vendors so the committee could compare ownership, PPA, and battery‑backup options side‑by‑side.

The committee also noted potential funding sources and options (including E‑rate and other programs flagged by one member) and agreed to continue information‑gathering before adding a solar/battery schematic or proposal as a formal agenda action item.
