Mackenzie Kelly returned to the podium to present the added action item: a reimbursable grant-funded technology purchase for the health department that would pay for seven workstations and nine docking stations to replace desktops and provide mobile laptops for clinic staff. Kelly said the quoted price from the vendor SHI was $21,448.28 and that she requested $24,066.15 to allow for potential quote changes and cover contingencies.
"This is being entirely paid by grant funding... the anticipated reimbursement would be before the end of year," Kelly said when asked about funding. She described the equipment as laptops and docking stations only; no additional service contracts or software agreements were planned. The board authorized the county IT department to purchase the equipment, with unanimous approval.
Kelly said adopting docks and laptops should reduce future replacement costs by avoiding duplicate devices and allow clinical staff to move efficiently between clinic and documentation stations. Staff noted an additional smaller grant set aside to cover unexpected changes if needed.
