Council discusses taking down library privacy fence as Memorial Park renovation nears

Council members (Speaker 2 and others) discussed a planned renovation of Memorial Park and proposed removing a six-foot privacy fence around the library to make the adjoining lot more accessible and easier to maintain. Speaker 2 said opening the lot would allow cleanup and create space for downtown activities; other members agreed removal would make maintenance simpler and more visible.

Members discussed whether a survey was required because of adjacent property owned by Morales and whether to preserve pickets for reuse or sale; Speaker 2 said several people already offered to buy pickets if the city sold them. The council agreed to consider the fence removal as a cleanup project for next month and to confirm property corners before major changes.
