On the consent agenda the Arlington County Board on March 14 approved two construction contracts totaling more than $13 million in authorized spending. The Board awarded Invitation to Bid No. N1334 to Fort Myer Construction Corporation for the North Dumbarton Street Culvert Replacement (Downstream) Project and the North Dumbarton Street Water Main Replacement Project, authorizing $3,008,353.59 plus $601,670.72 contingency for the culvert work and $1,253,172.88 plus $187,975.93 contingency for the water main work, for a total contract authorization of $5,051,173.12.
Separately, the Board approved Negotiation No. RFQ N1300 with Sagres Construction for Wilson Boulevard Improvements Project Phase 3B (North Kenmore Street to 10th Street North) with a contract amount of $6,827,000 and a contingency allocation of $1,365,400, for a total authorization of $8,192,400. In both cases the Board authorized the Purchasing Agent to execute contract documents subject to legal review by the County Attorney. Each motion passed 5–0.
The projects are capital public‑works improvements: the Dumbarton work replaces a culvert and water main and the Wilson Boulevard project advances streetscape and roadway improvements between North Kenmore Street and north of 10th Street. The contracts include contingency authorizations for change orders or increased quantities.
