The Florida Virtual School Board approved salary adjustments for instructional and support personnel during its quarterly meeting.
Under agenda item 7.3, the board approved a plan to increase base salaries retroactive to July 1, 2026: a 3% increase for instructional personnel rated "effective" and a 4% increase for those rated "highly effective." CEO Sam Verghese said the TSIA allocation for FLVS is $23,200,000, with nearly $3,000,000 earmarked for current-year increases. The board noted the statutorily required distribution plan must be approved by the school board and submitted to the Florida Department of Education by Oct. 1.
Under agenda item 7.4, CFO Judith Marte recommended — and the board approved — a 3% base salary increase for support staff positions not eligible for TSIA, retroactive to July 1, 2026, funded primarily through FLVS general operating revenues.
"The statutorily required distribution plan must be approved by the school board and submitted to the Florida DOE no later than October 1 of each year," Verghese said when describing the TSIA process. Trustees voted to adopt both items; motions were recorded as carried in the transcript but the public record in this transcript does not show a roll-call tally.
