City staff told the council they previously approved Federal Aviation Administration grants for the airport apron expansion (just over $4,800,000) and are now considering two state grant agreements that together require roughly $130,000 in state matching funds for the same project. "These are the state grant agreements for the exact same project to bring in the state share of those, and it's just about $130,000 is what the state will kick in on those projects, and that is our match," Michelle said.
Public works staff (Adam) presented a proposal from Mead & Hunt for construction staking, materials testing and construction administration for the apron project at $610,000, noting that amount is a little over 10% of overall project cost and is consistent with state and FAA‑approved consultant rates used in the grant process. The council was told the item may be pulled from Monday's agenda if the service agreement for electrical service at the Sawmill development is not ready.
