Commission accepts annual school-zone speed enforcement report showing 6,942 notices

Staff presented the annual School Zone Speed Enforcement report for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, and recommended the commission receive and accept the summary as required by ordinance and state statute. Staff reported 6,942 notices of violation; 17 were contested at hearing with 15 upheld and 2 dismissed. Staff detailed revenue distributions and vendor collections and noted a minor reconciling timing discrepancy in the reflected totals.

Commissioners commented on the volume of violations and on camera coverage expansion in future reporting cycles; staff said additional camera locations are expected to come online in the next cycle. After brief discussion a motion to accept the report carried unanimously.
