Selectboard to form stakeholder committee for $3.5M Dam & Bridge grant

Resident Annie Fujii asked when the stakeholder committee promised after the February town meeting would be formed for the $3.5 million Dam & Bridge grant. Vice Chair Jim Linville said environmental review is ongoing but that a design committee will be established once the grant is accepted, likely by year-end, and that it will include representatives from the library, community association, fire department and village residents. Linville said forming the committee sooner would allow stakeholders to participate in environmental studies and impact assessments.

Selectboard members agreed the committee should begin earlier rather than later and said a stakeholder letter would be sent out soon to begin identifying participants and clarifying the committee’s role in the design and review process.
