Two residents used the public-comment period to raise neighborhood concerns. Donald Boyse Jr. of Chichester Avenue urged the council to prioritize fixes on East Mercury Boulevard — the city's portion of the road that Boyse said remains rough and creates hazards for drivers and cyclists. He told council, "I think we need to put some priority on East Mercury Boulevard," and described a cycling path that ends abruptly beyond Andrews Boulevard, forcing riders into traffic.
John Crewless (3631 Chesapeake Avenue) used his remarks to thank council members for their service and to call for volunteers for Meals on Wheels and other community supports, and he referenced civic projects such as the aquatic center as areas that would benefit from public energy and participation. Both commenters expressed appreciation for council attention and asked for follow-up where appropriate.
