The Carbondale City Council approved its consent agenda at the Sept. 29 meeting, passing items 5.1 through 5.8 by roll call vote (6–1). The consent package included routine administrative approvals, a number of capital and grant actions and vendor awards.
Key items approved included warrant number 1546 for $1,323,349.81 covering the pay period ending Sept. 11; a Wells Fargo warrant for $146,820.73 for FY27 (period ending Aug. 31); an ordinance to convey a portion of Old Route 13 property to IDOT; and a budget adjustment to increase the Carbondale Public Library budget by $118,575 to replace its HVAC system. The council also approved a resolution to submit an Illinois EPA Efficient and Resilient Public Buildings grant application for $200,000 with a required 10% local match ($20,000), awarded $116,160.51 to TK Elevator Corporation for elevator modernization at the water treatment plant, and authorized submission of an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program grant application for $2,289,800 with an obligating match of $472,960.
The consent action passed on roll call: Colombo, Kelman, Lowes, Roberts, Stanfield and Mayor Carolyn Harvey voted yes; Council member Maxwell voted no. The council moved the items as a group after staff summarized the exhibits and answered a public question about the bike/ped trail alignment associated with one of the grant applications.
