The Lake County School Board voted unanimously to adopt two October proclamations recognizing Red Ribbon Week and National Bullying Prevention Month.
A staff member presented the two routine proclamations, and the superintendent recommended their approval. The board recorded a 5-0 vote to place the proclamations into the record. The Red Ribbon activities were described as the week of October 23–31; National Bullying Prevention Month activities were described as districtwide for the month of October.
Board members and district staff encouraged campuses to participate in themed days tied to the anti-bullying effort, including wearing blue on Monday, Oct. 5, and orange on Wednesday, Oct. 21 for Unity Day. Superintendent (speaker 1) also called attention to district communications about the referendum and outreach materials intended to explain district initiatives and funding proposals.
