Tiffany Lee, a student at Flintridge Preparatory School and a youth council applicant, told the La Cañada Flintridge City Council she wants young people to have an active voice on local policy and safety issues. "I think that youth should, like, like, have a say in everything that goes on in a council," she said, adding that she has organized workshops and advocacy events and raised funding to support youth programs.
Lee proposed targeted e-bike safety workshops for middle and high schools after describing widespread e-bike use among students. She told the council she would recruit representatives from local schools to run lessons and hands-on safety sessions and pointed to her fundraising record: "recently last year, I raised $25,000 to Girls Inc LA," she said, noting she has run multiple workshops for students. Council members pressed Lee on how much authority the youth council holds; a councilmember clarified the body is advisory and any funded project requires council approval.
If appointed, Lee will be eligible to participate in youth council meetings and said she can attend the Friday afternoon sessions; the council will vote on appointments on October 6.
