County to open Facilities Director search; application deadline set for Oct. 12

The Oneida County Facilities Committee on Sept. 28 agreed to open the search for a Facilities Director to both internal and external applicants, setting an application deadline of Oct. 12, 2026, and tentatively scheduling interviews for the week of Oct. 19, 2026. Human Resources Director Jennifer Lueneburg presented the proposed timeline and the committee "agreed to proceed with the proposed recruitment timeline."

The committee said the interview panel will include committee members, County Board Chair Scott Holewinski, Administrative Coordinator Tracy Hartman and Human Resources Director Jennifer Lueneburg. Tracy Hartman noted that any departmental restructuring would be best developed by an incoming department head and that formal position-elimination discussions would be handled during upcoming budget hearings. Committee members were asked to submit suggested revisions to the Facilities Director job description to Lueneburg by the end of the day.

The committee recorded the recruitment discussion as informational and did not take a separate recorded vote beyond the consensus to proceed. The committee will receive updates as the posting, applicant pool and interview schedule are finalized.
