Jenny Larkin presented proposed updates to mooring fees and related regulations from the Harbor Management Commission aimed at encouraging timely permit renewals. She said on-time permit renewals would remain at $100, while applications filed after the annual deadline would incur a $150 fee.
"Basically, if the permit renewals are completed on time, they pay the current $100 permit fee... it goes to a 150 if you are past the deadline," Larkin said, explaining the change would be reflected in revised mooring regulations and followed by a public hearing on Oct. 19. The Harbor Management Commission will take a final vote at an upcoming meeting and, if approved, the change would be forwarded to the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) for implementation in 2027.
Larkin asked board members to submit comments before the public hearing; the board agreed to publicize the hearing through the town’s e-blast and social channels when details are finalized.
Why it matters: mooring fees affect boaters and harbor revenue and the public hearing offers residents a chance to comment before the commission finalizes regulations.
