The Advisory Plan Commission approved PSDP‑26‑14, a development plan for Lions Transit Inc. that will provide a truck‑parking area and a maintenance building, despite staff concerns about off‑site circulation and the site’s entrance on a narrow county road. Staff told commissioners the site would be used "primarily for truck parking, about 68%" and recommended a neutral/no recommendation position for the DPR because questions remained about maneuvering, queuing, and impacts on the county road.
Owner and applicant representatives described the project as limited to driver rest and light maintenance rather than a full public repair shop. Owner Jigna Shah said she initially thought the plan called for 35 spaces but acknowledged revisions: "I thought it was 35, but because of some changes... it's might be 31." Commissioners asked about semi lengths, parking stall lengths (roughly 72–73 feet was cited) and the feasibility of adding a deceleration lane; staff and the project engineer said site and right‑of‑way constraints make a deceleration lane impractical and recommended signage and other mitigation. After debate balancing demand for controlled truck parking and traffic concerns, Commissioner (S2) moved to approve "as presented, including staff's recommendations;" the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
