James Farmer Jr. said JMCSS has been "intentional" about making CTE and industry credentials available to students at Parkview Prep, the district’s alternative school. Farmer said Parkview students were offered career assessments and that the district recently placed two Parkview students in loop placements — one with the district maintenance team and another with Stanley Black & Decker — with a third placement potentially occurring at a middle school this week.
"I believe everyone deserves a second chance," Farmer said, stressing that placement in Parkview Prep should not preclude access to industry credentials, work‑based learning, or loop opportunities. He said district instructors are preparing industry credentials tailored to Parkview students so they receive the same career exposure and pathways as peers at other schools.
