Mayor Abdella told council the renovation of Belpre Baseball Fields — including new backstops and fencing on fields one and two — will be an important improvement for local youth sports and that a multiuse field will allow additional sports to use park facilities.
"The renovation of fields one and two with new backstop and fencing will be a wonderful improvement for the youth of Belpre," she said. Mr. Seebaugh, speaking on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Committee, said there has been strong community interest in the multiuse field and noted local flag‑football organizers are relieved they will not lose a playing area. Staff were asked to coordinate design, estimates and scheduling with other park projects.
