Clerk: two applicants disqualified after residency check
Before candidate interviews began Sept. 28, County Clerk Roxanne Holloway told the board two additional applicants were disqualified after staff checked the State of Michigan Qualified Voter File and determined they did not meet the residency requirement shown on their applications.

"We did receive 2 additional applications, but after our office researched through the Qualified Voter File for the State of Michigan, it was determined that they did not meet the residency requirement, according to the data on their application," the clerk said.

The board did not name the disqualified applicants during the meeting. Commissioners proceeded to interview the three remaining finalists for the District 5 seat.
