Cub Academy staff outline enrollment dynamics and early learning benchmarks

Presenter Katie walked the board through current enrollment patterns and projected January numbers, explaining that the preschool assessment team evaluates incoming children several times a week and that evaluations create fluid class lists.

Katie emphasized classroom size differences for developmental preschool rooms compared with elementary classrooms: "When you have developmental classrooms, you're not gonna put 20 students in those classrooms." She said the program has moved through its wait list for full-day students and is creatively slotting students into remaining openings while continuing weekly case conferences to start new students.

The presenter also highlighted the benchmark committee's work creating targeted assessments to help families see where their child is and what to work on for kindergarten readiness.
