DHHL launches RFP RFP-27-HL-002 with $1 million statewide for homestead economic projects

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands held a virtual pre-offer conference to explain RFP-27-HL-002, titled Sustainable Community Economic Enterprises, and to outline who may apply and how grants will be awarded. DHHL staff said there is $1,000,000 available statewide from state general funds and an individual applicant may request up to $250,000. "There is a million dollars available statewide," DHHL staff said during the presentation.

Staff emphasized that because the funds are state general funds the primary benefit must accrue to existing DHHL homesteads and leases; non-beneficiary partners may participate but cannot be the focus of the application. Applications must be received at the department's secure inbox by 2:00 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time on November 2 and will not be accepted if emailed to other state addresses. Applicants will receive email confirmation within 24 hours of submission.
