The North Branford Board of Education opened its Sept. 17 meeting by recognizing student artists from across the district. Miss Kaplan introduced art teachers and called students forward to display their monthly artwork during a short ceremony that drew applause from the board and audience.
Superintendent Scott and board members praised the art department’s instruction and thanked families for their support. "We so appreciate the opportunity," Miss Kaplan told the board, introducing teachers Christina Luchin, Elise Mortonson and Susan Moore. The district said photos of the student displays will be posted on the school website with permission.
The recognition highlighted student work from pre‑K through high school and named monthly honorees. The board used the brief presentation to underscore support for arts programming as part of broader extracurricular offerings.
The board then moved into procedural items and student representative reports, continuing the meeting’s agenda.
