Student representatives Al and Craig Miller briefed the board on recent student‑life activities and initiatives. "My name is Al. I'm a senior at the high school," Al said when introducing the report; the pair described freshman orientation held Aug. 20 that welcomed "over 80 incoming freshmen" and included building tours, Chromebook distribution and targeted workshops for parents.
The students also announced a new MBHS alumni network designed to reconnect graduates for mentorship and post‑secondary support; the district is collecting intake forms to grow the database. Craig Miller noted the district hosted a Back‑to‑School Night on Sept. 9 with faculty demonstrations and counseling workshops for seniors and ninth‑grade families.
On athletics, student representatives reported increased participation for fall sports, with enrollment higher than last year and "about 40" football players reported by staff. The student reps thanked coaches and volunteers and emphasized the importance of district support for extracurricular engagement.
Board members thanked the student representatives for their report and noted the value of the alumni network as a mentoring resource for current students.
