Superintendent Miss Allen presented the Audubon Public School District’s year‑two progress on a five‑year strategic plan, telling the board the plan grew from community forums, staff and board input and consultant support.
"We are now in year two of the strategic plan," Miss Allen said, outlining four priority areas: curriculum and instruction; successful options after high school (career pathways); inclusion and mental‑health supports; and community engagement. She described completed steps such as preschool expansion and peer observations and said the district is now moving into implementation of a district‑wide MTSS (multi‑tiered system of supports).
Miss Allen said the district is researching before‑and‑after‑care models for preschool and consulting a table of Camden County practices; she also asked the board to support parent workshops on Chromebook monitoring and digital safety tied to the Linewize rollout. The superintendent set an internal target for familiarizing parents with Linewize parental controls "by the end of October."
Board members praised the emphasis on data‑driven instruction and career readiness. Aboard discussion focused on feasibility and space constraints for expanded preschool services and the sequencing of MTSS implementation across buildings. Miss Allen said the district will provide follow‑up materials and slides on the weekly Wave for board members and the public. The board did not take a final action on the strategic plan at the meeting; items remain for administrative follow‑through.
