Council member James Cole said Laurel Pride Day will return this October for its fifth year at Granville Gude Park, running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will feature more vendors and expanded entertainment.
"We will be at Granville Gude Park from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This year we have more vendors. We have more entertainment, not just the standard drag performances and DJ this year. There will be tango lessons," Cole said, adding that singing groups and vendors traveling from outside the area will participate.
Cole said Pride has grown yearly since it began in 2022, bringing more attendees and connections to local resources, and that the historical society documents attendee stories about what Pride means to participants. He encouraged residents who have not attended before to come out and see the community that Laurel offers.
The program did not provide a specific date in October, ticketing information, or sponsorship details; organizers and the city will release those logistics closer to the event.
