At its Sept. 16 meeting the Middleton City Council approved multiple items of routine and substantive business. Major actions included:
- Consent agenda (items A–D): approved unanimously.
- Rural Steel subdivision (preliminary and final plats for a 15.69‑acre parcel at 11333 Bass Lane into three buildable lots): approved unanimously, subject to engineering and fire‑department conditions and recording of the roadway‑easement vacation.
- Addendum with Clearwater Financial for a community survey (not to exceed $9,500): approved (recorded roll‑call votes show three yes and one no); staff will draft questions with council input and post anonymized results online.
- Purchase of a 2026 Ford Ranger for code enforcement, not to exceed $42,270.16: approved unanimously using FY26 funds.
- Resolution 551‑26 to update Middleton's fee schedule and utility/impact fees (effective Oct. 1, 2026): approved unanimously; staff will correct minor documentation numbering before publication.
- Ordinance 727 establishing truck‑route restrictions on a narrow portion of Middleton Road: adopted after waiving the three‑reading rule; staff will work with ITD on signs and temporary median measures.
Several public commenters urged transparency for survey data and promoted community events: an Oct. 27 open house at the trolley station and an Oct. 12 high‑school "Life Unplugged" event. Council adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
