On Sept. 16 the finance committee considered a 2026 budget amendment that adjusts farmland preservation funding to reflect recent easement closings and updates multiple human-services allocations following mid-year revenue and allocation changes.
Mr. Dunstein told the committee farmland-preservation work closed a number of easements this year and the county must increase budget lines to claim state reimbursements for incidental costs. The human-services amendments reflect updated allocations received for the second half of the county’s fiscal year; staff said they adjusted budgets to align revenues and expenditures.
Committee members asked questions and the presenter said he could not guarantee no additional questions would arise at the full council meeting the following day. The item was left for further consideration at the next meeting.
