The Fillmore County Board of Supervisors on Sept. 25, 2026, adopted Resolution 2026-18 to set the countys 202627 property tax request. The resolution sets the General Fund request at $6,438,533.09, the Road Building Fund at $166,853.07, the Ag Society Building Fund at $2,123.10 and the Hospital Operating Fund at $116,406.57. Supervisor Wade Sluka moved the resolution and Supervisor Kenny Harre seconded; the board approved it by unanimous roll call.
The resolution cites Nebraska Revised Statutes 77-1632 and 77-1633 as the authorizing statutes for setting a tax request after a public hearing. The board noted that total assessed value of property changed by 9.36% from the prior year and provided a hypothetical rate that would collect the same dollars as last year ($0.199816 per $100 of assessed value). The boards proposed tax rate, based on the adopted request and revenue changes, is $0.210707 per $100 of assessed value. The record states the county expects the total operating budget to increase by 13.21% from last year as a result of the proposed request and other revenue changes.
The resolution directs that a copy be certified and forwarded to the County Clerk on or before Oct. 15, 2026, per statutory requirements. The roll call recorded ayes from Cerny, Graham, Harre, Lightwine, Neiman, Noel and Sluka; there were no nays.
