Board members agreed to form a small subcommittee to examine possible changes to meeting times and review bylaws.
A commissioner proposed that meetings be held later so working-class residents could attend more easily; Commissioners Taylor and Winford volunteered to lead a subcommittee to study the idea. Staff noted the board's bylaws date to Feb. 27, 1990, and said the subcommittee could review whether a bylaw change is required. "If you want a subcommittee, you can appoint a subcommittee anytime you want," staff said, and the chair accepted the volunteers.
Later in the meeting the board addressed a scheduling conflict: a City Council workshop on Oct. 22 occupies their usual room. After discussion the board moved, seconded and approved changing the Oct. 22 meeting start time to 2:30 p.m. to avoid the conflict; staff will circulate bylaws for review and post any subcommittee meetings under Sunshine rules.
